The surest way to make a monkey of a man is to quote him. That remark in
itself wouldn't make any sense if quoted as it stands.

This Just In
| We're delighted to see Brian Cook's Landscapes of Britain.
Cook was the artist behind the wonderful B.T. Batsford books that we've been selling second-hand for more than 20 years.
We once purchased a library with more than 40 of the distinctive books, which gave us a smug, secure feeling because we like having the books in our shop. But our splendid shelf-load disappeared within a week, when a collector noticed a couple of volumes in our window and bought the whole batch of them - you could have knocked us over with a feather!
You will probably recognize the artist's style; his book covers are distinctive from ten paces (modern book designers could perhaps learn a thing or two . . .).
This is a lovely book, with fantastic reproductions and a lovely appreciation by Sir Hugh Casson. A hardback priced at just 20, it is terrific value. Stop in to see a copy, or call or e-mail us by clicking here to arrange to purchase your copy!
