"Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."
- Isaiah 9:7
Notice, in the above scripture reference, that Jesus is going to order and establish the government of heaven on this earth. This we know will occur during what is called the millennial reign of Christ, or the thousand year reign of Christ (Rev. 20:4). Although we wait in anticipation for that day to come, there is a divine order that can begin to operate in us now, where we come under the control of the government of heaven. First Corinthians chapter fourteen, verse forty, describes the order of divine things. It says, "Let everything be done decently and in order." Paul was talking about the operations of the Holy Spirit within the church. That is one thing the Holy Spirit has been sent to do - to bring us into the order of divine things. It is not the Holy Spirit that needs to be brought into order. We are the ones who need to come under the rule of his order.
Order is very important when it comes to the flow of heaven. It is the one sure thing that determines how things operate, and how things are done correctly according to God's plan and purpose. There is no disorder in heaven. Disorder only occurs when sin has had its influence, and there is no way for sin to reach into heaven. The more we separate ourselves from sin, the more of the order of heaven will we experience.
Order affects every area of our lives. It affects us spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially. We can see a good example of order in nature. The sun rises and sets. The planets orbit the sun. The tides flow - the seasons change. Never have any of them ever gotten out of order. One of the reasons that they are constant is because they each are controlled by the sovereign hand of God. Man cannot control the tides, nor can he control the rising or setting of the sun. Since they cannot be corrupted or interrupted by man, they maintain a divine order, a divine flow.
Our lives are to reflect that kind of order. If we maintain fellowship with our heavenly Father, then we begin to experience order. Proverbs chapter four says, "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings; Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh" (Pro. 4:20-22). When you put the word first in your life, then it begins to order your life. It will even begin to order the health of your body!
The Bible defines five areas of divine order. If we are going to experience the flow of heaven, then we must pay attention to these five areas. The first is the order of Life's Priorities. Our life's priorities deal with our responsibilities and there is a divine order to each of them. First is our relationship with God; secondly, is our relationship with family; thirdly, is our relationship with our Church; fourthly, is our relationship with our Job; and lastly are our civil duties to our country.
The second area is the order of Eternal life. Romans chapter eleven, verse thirty-six, talks about the circle of divine order. It says, "For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." The life of God has a divine flow. It is of him - he is our life. It is through him - in him, we live and move and have our being. It is also to him - to the praise of the glory of his grace. Life is one of the most distinctive characteristics of heaven, and when we live by the order of Eternal life, we step over into a greater capacity for the things of God where we can experience more growth and more spiritual development.
The Third area is the order of Spiritual Ministry. This has to do with how to cooperate with the anointing. Paul dealt with this area concerning the use of the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12, 14). This order also has to do with the authority of the believer. We sometimes refer to it as the authority of heaven. We must make ourselves subject to that authority. That is how we qualify ourselves to function within the kingdom of God. God grants us his authority because we come unto the rule of authority.
The Fourth area is the order of Divine Destiny. God orders our steps - he directs our paths. When we follow the instructions of the Word of God, then we have the light of heaven to guide us, and it brings us into our divine purpose and destiny.
The Fifth and final area is the order of Glory. Paul talked about the different levels of glory and the different aspects of glory in First Corinthians fifteen. Creation has a glory. The heavens have a glory. Angels have a glory, and man has a glory. The ultimate order of glory is the glory of God. When we choose to come under the rule of heaven and yield to its divine order, then we can step over into the fullness of life, of ministry, of our authority, of our destiny, and of the glory of God!
All five areas of order will be demonstrated in their fullness during the millennium, but we can see much of it imposed upon our lives now, if we will allow the Holy Spirit to bring us into the order of divine things.
