"While we look not at the things which are seen,
but the things which are not seen: for the things
which are seen are temporal; but the things which
are not seen are eternal"
2 Corinthians 4:18
The first step toward destiny is for you to surrender your whole life to the will of God. By yielding "everything" to the Lord you empower a God-given ability within to understand his divine purpose. That is where the light of heaven shines into your heart to give you the knowledge of what God's plan is for your life.
Ephesians 4:18 says, "Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart." Until we each come to know Christ in a personal way, our minds will be alienated from the things God wants us to see. It will be as if blindness is clouding our spirit. We will find it very difficult to see the path that will lead us to God's ultimate plan.
Whenever the intellect is darkened to spiritual truth, then it only has one recourse - it must lean on the arm of flesh, and make flesh its strength. "For the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1 Cor. 2:14). Not only does the natural man live in darkness, but those who refuse to surrender completely to the will of God, they too are blinded by obscurity.
As long as life is contained within the scope of what is strictly natural, where the realm of the spirit is ignored, then spiritual things will not only be indistinct, but they will be undetectable. This is one reason why so much of the activities of church life is driven by human performance. Men have leaned to their own understanding instead of depending upon the mind of Christ.
When you operate in the mind of Christ you see what God sees. You learn to value what God values. You no longer lives with the idea that it is only about "me" and "mine" but it is all about "his." In John chapter eight, Jesus said, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" (John 8:12). The key is following him! That is the only way to see clearly and to know accurately. When you choose to walk by the light of life you will see the path that God has destined for you to take.
Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Once you make that connection and start to see into the spiritual realm, then you have to let faith navigate you through the twists and turns that are ultimately going to show up. That is the first step. You start by letting the light of God open the door to your destiny. Then through faith you learn how to process the journey.
Everything about finding what is out there for you is determined by the level of your pursuit. You have to set goals. You have to become motivated to do things God's way and not depend upon how easy or how safe it appears. There are many paths that God takes us on that are not always clearly marked, and that is where we must learn to take hold of faith. It is faith that becomes your empowerment toward destiny. Don't let the machinery of man propel you. Let faith in the unseen hand of God propel you! Make up your mind that if God doesn't take hold with you, then you're taking your hands off it! Too often the pride of man wants to keep holding on to something that God has clearly said, "let go of!" That was one of the grave faults of the Pharisees. They wouldn't let go of things that God had long past abandoned. They made up their mind that they were going to fuel their own purposes, and stoke the fire with their own agenda. Never mind what God wanted! But they unwillingness to surrender caused their fire to surely burn out! My friend, be assured of this one thing...the engines of heaven cannot and will not "ever" be fueled by the works of the flesh. The Bible is explicit that "no flesh shall glory in his presence" and that "Without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God!" (1 Cor. 1:29; Heb 11:6).
Faith is the only thing that has the ability to move you toward your destiny. Jesus said, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do; for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise" (John 5:19). When you surrender to the will of God, then you can begin to see what the Father is up to. You won't be just spinning your wheel, per se.
I'm here to tell you that the things of God are attainable, but they must be reached by living a devoted life, a surrendered life, a life of faith. Think of it this way: A surrendered life opens the portal to destiny and faith becomes the empowerment to step through and pursuit it. As long as you live on this lower stratum of life, where your mind is confined to the scope of what you physically see and feel, then you will never know the full depth of God's divine destiny for your life. You must become a person of faith if you want to soar above the heights of natural things. That is the only course that will enable you to embrace the supernatural.
Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think of you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." The Amplified Bible says: "To give you hope in your final outcome."
God is not holding back or trying to keep you from seeing all that he has planned for your life. When you decide to walk by faith the Holy Spirit will be there to guide your every step. He can take you to places you never thought you could ever go. There is nothing in life that is more important than finding the perfect will of God. That should be the driving force that motivates you every day.
With your compass of faith and the fair winds of the Holy Spirit you can reach your destination. It is my prayer that as you embark upon the high seas of life you will allow your faith to take hold of a fresh commitment in following after God's will and his way of doing everything he has set before you.
As you travel along life's journey, never lose sight of your God-given dreams, because hidden within each turn are signposts that will usher you into the safe haven of destiny. |
