MOMENTS OF MEDITATION

June 20, 2011 Vol 2 Issue 25

"Life is a journey of steps. Some steps go down, some steps go up. With every step we take, we find ourselves stepping in or stepping out of things that appear mundane and things that appear significant. Whether we find ourselves stepping on or stepping off of a path behind or before us, we must make every step count.  For this is what defines our journey and makes us who we are.

Greetings!

Last week we had the privilege of honoring the students who attended Faith Harvest School of Ministry in our Certificate Ceremony, by awarding them with certificates for individual class achievements and in receiving a Certificate of Completion.   During my address I shared on several specific life principles to help guide them as they pursue a place in destiny. These are critical life principles that can shape us into a life of excellence and award us with greatness.

LIFE PRINCIPLES
"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he
delighteth in his way."   - Psal 37:23

Every one of us should have a desire to leave a mark in life.  I don't think there is anyone who purposefully chooses for their life to be insignificant and forgettable. We should all want what we make of our lives to count.  We should desire to leave a legacy. We should seek ways as to how to influence those we come in contact with in this world, for the greater good.  Everything that we stand for at FHSM is to impart into those who become our students, a sense of value in what is taught and what they do with it after they have heard it.   If you want to be an achiever, you have to have something to live for, and when you find what it is that makes life worth living, then give it everything you have, because that is the only way you can make a difference.

     1. Never think more highly of yourself than ye ought to think, but at the same time never lose the great enthusiasm to follow the path that is beyond yourself. God sees more in you than you see in yourself, but only through the eyes of humility will he let you see what he sees. Pride distorts the image of God. It will never lead you to the path beyond yourself, but to a path that is beneath yourself.

     2. Don't ever settle for less by doing less. Keep expecting more by doing more. A workman is worthy of his hire.  Activity is the power behind productivity.  Nothing is accomplished, and no one is bettered by you letting your energies remain idle.

     3. To go from faith to faith, from strength to strength, from glory to glory, you have to set a pace that is just beyond comfortable.  Determine within yourself that becoming more than you are requires a lifestyle of pushing instead of succumbing.

     4. It is OK to reminisce the past, but never let looking back reduce you from seeing what lies ahead.  Vision is not about looking over your shoulder.  It is about seeing ahead.  The day always dawns with the outlook of what will be, not what was.  Dreams do not connect you to your past.  They always connect you to your future.

     5. Don't let yourself be satisfied with your limitations. Be determined to improve your outcome.  You can change what seems unchangeable, if you will believe the impossible is possible.

     6. Make up your mind that you are going to be a person who demands to be stretched instead of surrenders to be restricted. Leave yourself no option for failure. Even when it seems as if you have failed, turn it into a learning experience never the end of your journey. Push until you arrive or else you will compromise to survive.

     7. Never let the fear of the time it will take to reach your goal chase away your enthusiasms, but rather fear the outcome of turning time into wasted years of no results.  You've heard the statement, "If I only had time...if I only had time!"  People don't find time, they make time. Most dreams stall out because people don't manage time. You cannot let time govern your life, you have to govern time.

     8. Be careful with the company you keep.  Dream thieves are people who cannot think with you, but rather oppose what you think.  You cannot win by befriending a loser.  Keep your inner circle small and surround yourself with those who think big.

    9. Be goal-oriented, even if what you start with as a goal is easily attainable.  The more goals you reach, the more you will want to reach, until achieving goals will become a normal way of life. Eventually, your goals will grow larger until you have more accomplished and more to show for your life.  (Gordon Lindsey was a person who made a decision to impact his generation. He not only succeeded by pouring himself into writing over 250 books within 25 years, but through his writing he is continuing to impact the world.  What is it that you are leaving behind for others to follow?  Make life a project not just an experience).

    10. Lastly, your mind will never reach a place where it can no longer contain any more knowledge. So never stop learning.  Even after finishing school, realize all you have is an outline of truth.  There are points all along life's way that you will need to add to your outline, expanding and growing as you go.  Always remember that the moment you think you know it all, that's the time when you have determined your own boundaries and limitations.

PRAYER

Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit - my truest Teacher.  I thank you that he always provides me with new facets of revelation from your Word.  Holy Spirit, you are the Consummate Teacher of teachers.  And today, I purpose in my heart to listen for your guidance, for your instructions, to know what you want me to do and what you want me to say.  May your gentle way of teaching give me something to impart into others to help make a difference in their life, In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

CONFESSION

I make a decision today; I will practice these life principles until they become a way of life for me.  I realize that people watch how I live, and how I conduct myself.  I can leave no greater testimony than to see others seek to pattern their life as I have lived mine. Paul said, "Follow me, as I follow Christ" (1 Cor. 11:1). May my life exemplify Christ in every way-in word, in conversation, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity (1 Tim 4:12).

DEFINING MOMENTS...

This year was a very special year for us.  Not only was it our pilot year, as we launched a program that we have anticipated seeing come into manifestation for some time, but we experienced some very extraordinary moments in the presence of God. We saw the Teacher in a new light.  Through him, we gained a new appreciation for revelation-we witnessed the marvel of his abilities working through among us-expanding our gifts, enabling us to teach on a level that we have never taught on before, and seeing folks elevate their love for the Word of God in such a way that it changed their lives.  There is no greater reward...it was a time that will become a hallmark moment to our hearts.

In His Grace,
