THE FAITH FACTOR TO FINDING DESTINY

"While we look not at the things which are seen,

but the things which are not seen: for the things

which are seen are temporal; but the things which

are not seen are eternal"

                                                                  -          2 Corinthians 4:18

The first step toward destiny is for you to surrender your life to God. By coming to the Lord you empower your own ability to understand his divine purpose. That is how the light of heaven shines into your heart to give you the knowledge of what God's plan is for your life.

Ephesians 4:18 says, "Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart."

Until we each come to know Christ in a personal way our minds will be alienated from the things God wants us to see. It is as if blindness is covering our spirit. That blindness will keep us from grasping God's ultimate plan.

Whenever the intellect is darkened to spiritual realities then it has no way of knowing the steps to take in order to find true destiny. "For the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1 Corinthians 2:14).

Sometimes the things of God can appear to make very little sense to the natural mind.  Only through a personal devotion can they become clear enough to discover the secrets of divine things.

Antimated worshipAs long as life is contained within the scope of what is strictly natural, where the realm of the spirit is ignored, then spiritual things will not only be indistinct, but they will seem foolish and far-fetched.  "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ" (verse 15-16).

To have the mind of Christ enables you to see what God sees. It is like coming into an understanding of spiritual things where the divine purposes of God are revealed.  In John chapter eight, Jesus said,"I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life" (John 8:12).  He also said, "I have come that you might have life and that you might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).  Spiritual realities are discovered by walking in the light of life.  The more of that life you experience the easier it is to see the path that God has destined for you to take.

Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."  Once you make that connection and see the purpose of God for your life, then you have to let faith navigate you through the twists and turns that are ultimately going to show up.

That is the first step.  You start by letting the light of God open the door to your destiny.  Then through faith you learn how to process the journey.

Everything about finding what is out there for you is determined by the level of your pursuit.  You have to set goals.  You have to become motivated to discover what God has purposed for you to do for him.  That is where faith takes hold of your life. It is faith that becomes your empowerment toward destiny. Faith has the ability to move you toward doing the will of God just as it moved Jesus to carry out his purpose.  It was his faith in what he saw that empowered him to get where he needed to be to finish his course. He told the Pharisees, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do; for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise" (John 5:19). That is the power of living by the light of life.  It enables you to see what the Father is doing, and then it is just a matter of walking it out.

The things of God are attainable, but they must be reached by living a life of faith.  Think of it this way: Life opens the portal to destiny and faith becomes the empowerment to pursuit it.  As long as we live on this lower stratum of life where our minds are confined to the scope of what we physically see and feel, then we will never know the greater meaning to life. We have to use faith to soar above the heights of natural things to embrace supernatural things.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think of you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."  The Amplified Bible says: "To give you hope in your final outcome."

When you decide to walk by faith the Holy Spirit will be there to guide your steps. He can take you to places you never thought you could ever go. There is nothing in life that is more important than finding the perfect will of God.  That should be the driving force that motivates you every day.

With your compass of faith and the fair winds of the Holy Spirit you can reach your destination.  It is my prayer that as you embark upon the high seas of life you will allow your faith to take hold of a fresh commitment in following after God's eternal plan and purpose.

As you travel along life's journey, never lose sight of your God-given dreams, because hidden within each turn are signposts that will usher you into the safe haven of destiny.

PRAYER

Father, thank you for loving me enough that you have made a way for me to find my true purpose in life. And thank you for the Holy Spirit who enlightens my spirit so that I can discover things that are in that spiritual realm - that are very real and attainable.  I ask you to guide my steps and lead me into my divine destiny.  Help me discover spiritual realities so that I can fulfill the course you have purposed for my life, In Jesus' name, Amen.

CONFESSION

Today, I will exercise my faith in the unseen realm.  I choose to see things that I know in my spirit God has appointed for me to do.  I refuse to doubt what I know belong to me, and I will see them come to pass in my life.  Everything that I am to do on this earth, I will accomplish.  I will not leave this world with my destiny wanting!  I will finish my course, in Jesus' name.

DEFINING MOMENTS...

Time is a very precious gift. Every moment that passes by should serve as a reminder of how close we are to eternity.  One day (and none of us know for sure how soon that day will be) we will have to give an account for our life.  Once we cross over there is no turning back.   That is why it is imperative to value the time you have, and make the most of your opportunities to discover God's will for your life. James said, "What is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (James 4:14).  Time is not always going to be there to work out things we need to do to recover moments we let slip through our hands.  What we hold in this very moment will soon vanish away.  We must awaken to destiny and capture every moment, seizing every opportunity before it is too late.

A Close Look At Worry
                            by Pastor Bob Dean

How is it that Satan can wrap a Christian up in little knots or destroy a human being's life with worry?  The answer to this question is in the Word of God.  Hosea said: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6).  A person worries because he or she is either separated from God or ignorant of God's provisions for their life.

Take a close look at the reasons why human beings worry.  Finances, health, the uncertainty of life itself, what will tomorrow bring?  There are hundreds of reasons why a man or woman worries, and all of them have their foundation in fear of some kind.  Fear of loneliness, fear of rejection, fear of lack, fear of death; all of these things take a heavy toll on people's lives every day.

If you can learn to identify Satan and his strongholds in your life, you will be well on your way to whipping worry.  Begin to take a look around you and see if there isn't a supernatural push to cause folks to worry, and how they are eaten up with care.

The major thing that worry brings is self centeredness, which is totally contrary to the attributes of love. If worry is a problem then put God back on the throne of your life and quit trying to be the problem solver for every little thing that comes along.

Paul said, "Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God" (Phil. 4:6).

We must learn to cast down thoughts that aren't living up to the Word of God. Anything that is contrary to the higher truth of God's Word is a lie. Gird up the loins of your mind by renewing it to the Word of God.

Jesus said, "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). The knowledge of Jesus is the key to victory over worry and care.  Your freedom is contingent upon knowing the truth, and it is the truth of God's Word that must be allowed to grow so big on the inside of you that there is no room in your heart or mind for fear or doubt or care.

If you will do this, then when the thoughts of worry approach your mind, your mind will automatically begin to reject them.  Your faith in the Word will garrison your mind and you will be ready to do battle to conquer the enemy of your soul.

It is not enough just to cast worry down.  You must express the promise that God has declared in his Word. You must tell the Devil and all the demons of hell what it is that you believe. When the thoughts of worry begin to bang against your now "Word-shielded" mind, you rebuke that attack with the spoken Word. You must speak to the mountain with the truth of God's Word and it will crumble before you.

Be relentless in your conquering of worry. Give it no slack.  Show no mercy as it has shown you no mercy.   The more you do this the faster Satan will see that you are no longer a pushover for care and worried thoughts.  All those around you will begin to hear and see your strength as you take charge of your life!
