Greetings! We are approaching 40 days before summer camp begins (depending on when you read this). I ran across a song by Steve Camp that speaks of not bothering to tell them that God loves them until we are ready to love them. Is that not what camp is all about? It is not just about sharing the message, it is about being the message. It is my prayer that this summer, together we can make a difference, love the unloved, and impact the Kingdom for His glory. May we never forget the reason why we do camp.
"We love, because He first loved us" 1 John 4:19

Staff Info Peter Bloom Peter has been involved with Christian camps since the 60s and with CCI/Canada since 1974. He was recruited by the board to hold an official position as Ambassador in 2003. Peter sees his role as an "encourager to fuel a passion for this ministry while offering vision and insight from a long-term perspective" and seeks to be a resource to all Christian camps. Please feel free to contact Peter (705-385-2657) if/when a new perspective is desired, advice about concerns is needed, or challenges arise in your camping environment. He wants to help however he can and will direct you to someone that can if he is unable to. He is a wealth of information due to his incredible history with Christian camps in Canada. Peter is heading up CCI/Canada's Latin America Exchange and will also be involved in the 2011 Australia Exchange and highly recommends participation in these opportunities. To read more from Peter see our website. ________________________________________________________ Cassandra Brubacher We are pleased to welcome Cassandra to our Administration team. Australia Camp Exchange 2011 CCI/Canada is in the process of developing an Australian camp exchange. This is a great way as a director to broaden your view of camp from a world perspective and see other models of camp and conference ministry. It is a great opportunity to learn, grow and gain insight into new ways of ministering through camp. The plan is for an Australian team to come here in June of 2011 and for a team from CCI/Canada to go there in September of 2011. We are in the midst of putting the dates together and developing a registration process. If you are interested in hosting our Australian guest(s) and/or travelling to Australia, please let us know of your interest. More information will be added to our website as details are confirmed. |

Website- Renovations
Over the next couple of months we will be revamping the content and structure of our website. We have just switched over to a new platform ( celect) that allows us more versatility, options and control. If there is something that you would like to see, contribute, or suggest, please let us know. |

Tid bits
Homesickness - Did you know 70% of homesickness can be prevented before camp starts? Never mention or talk about home with homesick campers. Avoid the H-word. Get them focused on all the fun things planned and remind them of all the fun activities they've enjoyed already. Programming - Websites With Descriptions of Games to Play with Groups. Try this free download which is ideal for when the kids arrive at camp, in between activity sessions, after lunch and any other time your groups of kids are just sitting around. This booklet is meant to keep campers engaged during those down times and waiting periods. Skits - This site has some great skit ideas for program directors. Take a look! |
