Happy New Years!
A new year can be a new beginning. It can be a genesis of new initiatives, strategies and goals. It is often when I begin all over to read through scripture. It struck me this year how relevant it was to begin reading Genesis, a new beginning for Man at the beginning of a new year. Genesis traces the inception of the universe, man woman, marriage, worship, sin judgment, civilization, and redemption. It gives us a wide-angle view of God's dealings with mankind. It reveals the hand of God at work. As we embrace the calling and mission God has given each one of us, may we continue to seek God's perspective, strength and wisdom in all we do. May we continue to begin each day in his word.
I would encourage you to share/forward this news letter with other and have them subscribe to it. Maybe we can help other camps and those interested in camp ministry have a new beginning also.
Blessings!
Derrick Mueller National Director CCI/Canada

Protect your campers with proper employment and volunteer screening
Did you know 12% of Canadians have a criminal record?
Past behaviour is often the most accurate predictor of future behaviour. On average, 20% of candidates are red-flagged during the screening process. A strong screening policy for employees and volunteers will reduce turnover costs, and prevent the hiring of an unsuitable candidate. CCI/Canada has a discount rate with BackCheck, which provides access to screening services, including: Name Based Criminal Record Verifications - conducted by Canadian Police and based on the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) with results delivered next business day. eReference Checks - deliver high-quality, detailed online reports illustrating applicants' character and personality traits in an unbiased manner. Driver Abstracts - results include verification of name, date of birth, gender, status of license and any convictions, suspensions, and prohibitions. More about Backcheck.
Criminal Records Directory This is another web service that I found that gives you access to unlimited criminal record searches, unlimited access to a multitude of databases and premium database support for a fee of $29.95 a year or $39.95 for a lifetime access.
Understanding Police Record Checks The brochure from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police gives insights on what a records check is and why it can be useful.
BCS investigationThis is another agency that offers employment checks out of Quebec. There prices vary depending on what you require. They have a range of products in pre-employment investigation.
