National Directors Update/Report
December 2009
A Blessed Thought

January 1st is an important day on the calendar as it signifies a new beginning. But it can never compare with the glorious age Christ will usher in when he comes. Some of my readings have taken me to the book of Revelation and have given me a greater sense of anticipation for Christ's return. I have wondered how this truth will shape my year as national Director and ours as a board and reps for CCI/Canada. How will next year be different or the same as this year. How will our faith grow and develop?

What lessons have we learned as an organization and association? Where have we experienced growth? Where do we need to ask God for help? As I reflect on the year that has passed I releases how much we change in one year. My heart has felt joy, pain, separation, betrayal, hope, love frustration and grace. In each of those feelings are lessons that are changing me to the better. Through the good and hard times may we grow in his grace, and may His word transform us. Spurgeon once said, "Nobody ever outgrows Scripture; the book widens and deepens with our years." May the word of God continue to transform you and may your ministries be instruments in God's hand. To learn we must be willing to be taught (Proverbs 12:1), it is my prayer that we all be learners of the word willing to be taught and edified by it.

Thank you for the privilege of serving CCI.

November/December Update Report

This report is a way of keeping the exec, board and reps up to date on what I have been doing. Time goes by so quickly. Below are just some of the things that have occupied my time these last couple of months.
  1. Great trip to US Conference, got lots of ideas and connected with the exec staff. It was nice getting to know Bruce also as a roomy.
  2. Had a great trip to Alberta, good visits, great insights and fellowship. It was a very worth while trip.
  3. After I came back Bev and I finished up the next Equipper. The new format is allowing us to track what is of interest, who opens it up, and gives an overview of the mailing. Your comments are welcomed.
  4. The Home Depot added value is in the works. I am grateful for Sharon who will give time calling and letting people know and helping them through the process. The next Equipper will have more details, just awaiting info from the Home depot marketing department.
  5. The credit initiative is ready to go if we are all on board. This will be done on an individual basis.  It will be another option for Members. We get a kick back of 200 for each person who signs on.
  6. I have started conversations with Staples and in this case members will receive value but no kick back to CCI.
  7. I think I will dedicate a February Equipper to the added value items.
  8. I have been busily putting my schedule together for the next quarter and it is very packed. I will attend all regional meetings, do some training events for camps that have taken advantage of the training promo, connect with BC at their conference and begin developing relationships, and attend the camp days tour in Saskatchewan to different colleges.
  9. I am hoping to get to know more Western Camps by having a booth at the various colleges for camp days. I am planning to go to the Briercrest and the Bethany college one for sure.
  10. A lot of time has been going into developing marketing and Promo materials. I have been developing Display Banners and a general look for materials. I am hoping to have business cards, conference banner, cci camp and conference banners and materials ready for the next three month.
  11. Bev and I are working at getting all the conference material together. My goal is to have as much stuff ready for my travels and regional meetings as possible.
  12. Bev and I have been working on telephone solutions and hope to have everything in place for both of us in January. There will be no change to numbers, just inclusion of me through a internet system.
  13. As part of trying to communicate more with camps I have developed a youtube and facebook site and continue to keep it up dated.
  14. I have almost finished  team training materials that can be used for Camps as part of the added value. Discount pricing will be available. The material is designed for staff and counselor training. The tool is being printed in January and includes a team profiling and devotional tool. It is also will be used as part of our Training special.  I am using the information as a basic for my speaking at all the Regional Events and will present it there.
  15. Expert on line  Training- I have continued to connect with them over this last month and feel good about the progress.  Currently the program will be $99.00 a camp for the training materials and the individual licenses will be purchased separately. I am meeting with them in January and hope to have the details down. My goal would be next year that this was just a benefit in our membership fees. I hope to get a read on our members at the regional events. I will keep you posted.
  16. Would appreciate your prayers. My wife's father is in the last stages of cancer, he is expected to die in the next month or two. It has been a hard Christmas for us and Laurie's family.
