We knew it was coming, we
prepared for it for weeks and yet it seems before you know it...Pesach is here!
I often remind people that we are
supposed to recreate the slavery of Egypt around our Seder tables and not in
the weeks leading up to Pesach. It
is important to rid our homes of Chametz, but beyond that please check your
stress level. Make sure that what
you feel going up is your excitement - not your blood pressure.
One last suggestion to pull it
all together. As the sun is
starting to set on Erev Pesach and the candles are lit and everything is ready
and everyone has arrived - close your eyes and take a slow breath in. If you worked hard for this moment,
appreciate how you have created this beautiful bond that will bring people
together around your table for the next few hours. If you are the guest at someone's home, appreciate that you
are being welcomed to participate in a sharing of history, nourishment and
philosophy, as well as wine and song.
I truly believe we need to
re-engage ourselves with the beauty of Pesach and its strong messages. Prepare with excitement, take your
breath of appreciation and plunge right in. Who knows? We
might even find it liberating!

me some wonderful Seder moments to share with our growing community. You can always e-mail me at info@rachaelscentre.org
