Rain Gardens Enhance Township Memorial Area

On June 30, Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania led volunteers from FedEx Ground in planting three rain gardens in front of the Moon Township Municipal Building.

If you're driving by the Moon Township Municipal Building this week, you'll notice that the dirt moving around township flagpoles has given way to three beautiful new rain gardens circling the township memorial area. Read more here. |
| Pittsburgh Philharmonic to Play at Moon Park Tonight | |
Grab a blanket or lawn chair and join Moon Parks and Recreation tonight for a Pittsburgh Philharmonic concert as part of the 2011 Family Fun Nights series. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. at the ARL Amphitheater in Moon Park. Moon Parks and Recreation is hoping for clear skies this evening, but the event is weather-dependent, so please check www.moonparks.org or call 412-262-1703 ext. 10 for the most up-to-date event advisories Visit www.moonparks.org for the full Family Fun Nights schedule through August.

Moon Township Celebrates Fourth of July
|  Independence Day 5K About 300 runners and walkers jump started their holiday weekend at Moon Township's third annual Independence Day 5K on Saturday, July 2, at the Cherrington Corporate Center. Moon Parks and Recreation thanks Greater Pittsburgh Orthopaedic Associates, AmeriHealth Casualty and all other event sponsors for their support. Results and race times will be made available through the Moon Parks and Recreation website at www.moonparks.org.
 Annual Fourth of July Celebration
Moon Township's Annual Fourth of July Celebration, sponsored by Clearview Federal Credit Union, brought upwards of 12,000 attendees to Moon Park for music, fun and fireworks. National performing artist Chuck Wicks, Moon Township's own Sarah Marince, Brooke Annibale and Arena's Performing Arts Centre entertained the crowd at the ARL Amphitheater, and the event wrapped up with a fireworks grand finale from Zambelli Fireworks Internationale. |
Earned Income Tax Information

Representatives from Keystone Collections Group, Moon Township's earned income tax collector, will be available at the Moon Township Municipal Building on Friday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. For more information about Keystone Collections Group, or to file online, visit www.keystonecollects.com.

MCA-TV Launches Redesigned Website

 Check out MCA-TV's newly- redesigned website at www.mca-tv.org. While you're there, view the program schedule, watch a program online, submit a community bulletin board message and find out about volunteer opportunities at the station. Also find results from MCA-TV's 2011 Viewer Survey, which was distributed in to Moon residents over the winter.
