Supervisors Retain Special Counsel to Advise on Oil and Gas Ordinance

The Moon Township Board of Supervisors at their April workshop meeting agreed that reevaluating the township's oil and gas ordinance - with a focus on Marcellus Shale natural gas - will be a top priority this spring.

At the April 27, workshop meeting, the board voted to retain Tucker Arensberg, P.C. as special counsel for matters related to oil and gas well activity in Moon Township.

Moon Township has not yet received any land use requests for Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling within township borders. But as the Marcellus Shale gas industry continues to grow in Pennsylvania, the board is reexamining its oil and gas ordinance to ensure that it addresses current drilling standards, technologies, and practices to protect the township's best interests. The committee will meet monthly at the municipal building as the planning process moves forward. The next committee meeting is planned for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at the municipal building. MCA-TV Premieres New Season of Cooking Matters

Cooking Matters Crew"Cooking Matters" host Pam Krug's traditional recipes all start and end the same way. Prep work begins with relaxing Italian music, and her time-honored invitation, "Abbiamo finito, mangiate bene (We are finished, eat well)!" adds the final garnish.

But Krug's expansive repertoire of hand-me-down family recipes and variations on traditional Italian staples is bringing back "Cooking Matters" for a second season filled with new dishes.

When the Moon resident's weekly program returns to MCA-TV in May, the show will reveal a new look that reflects Krug's style and mantra that home-cooked dishes nourish a family with more than just a meal. The new season of "Cooking Matters" premieres at 9 a.m. May 5, and will air regularly on Thursdays on MCA-TV, Comcast channel 14 and Verizon FiOS channel 35.
