Women and children in northern Africa are facing a painful death by starvation as famine conditions have worsened in the region known as the Horn of Africa. Famine-like conditions are threatening the lives of more than 11 million people in drought-stricken Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia. The United Nations is calling the crisis the world's most serious humanitarian disaster in over a generation.

The crisis in the Horn of Africa is worsening every day and will continue over the coming six months or longer. Almost half of the population in Somalia is malnourished and one child in three is suffering severe malnutrition. Thousands of children have already died of starvation as they flee to refugee camps along the Somalia border in northern Kenya.

Food and water are desperately needed now to save the lives of tens of thousands of children. For that reason, Cincinnati's Kids Against Hunger "Factory" (a program of A Child's Hope Int'l) will ramp up production immediately to help feed these starving children. A Child's Hope Int'l will be working with the humanitarian relief organization World Help (Forest, VA) to produce, ship and deliver over 4 million high protein meals starting within the next few weeks.
