Presented through partnerships with Mad Science and the award-winning Young Audiences New Jersey, the Museum's Auditorium programs are sure to delight and thrill you. Travel to pre-hsitoric New Jersey when dinosaurs roamed; watch and participate in gravity defying experiments; travel along the Appalachian trail through story and song; and with the help of a Mad Scientist discover the exciting theories of science. 
Auditorium programs provide fun and unique educational opportunities. Children are so engrossed in the live action they may not even realize they are learning about the world around them. Programs are $4 per person.

Showcasing Irish, African, hip-hop, and house rhythms, these two "hoofing" dancers create unbelievable percussion with their feet.  Homage is paid to the virtuoso performers, King Rastus Brown, Bill Bojangles Robinson, John Bubbles, and the audience learns how to dance in their debonair footsteps by practicing the basics steps.

This 45-minute special event features several different aspects of science. Learn what a polymer is and watch a brave volunteer make a giant batch of Slime with their bare hands!  Watch in amazement as the Mad Scientist uses science to melt the 'Wicked Witch of the West' right before your eyes.  Next, learn about static electricity from demonstrations with a Van de Graaff generator.   You may have a 'hair raising' experience when a volunteer is selected to touch the Van de Graaff.  We round off the event with our exciting Dry Ice demonstrations.

The fascinating world of dinosaurs comes alive in this fast-paced Auditorium program presented by award-winning educator Tony Miskowski, Assistant Curator of Natural History. In Dino-Safari embark on a journey through time and stop in the Mesozoic swamp to learn about these so-called "terrible lizards" that dominated the global landscape for some 150 million years. Throughout the program, traditional scientific views are compared and contrasted with the latest fossil discoveries that are giving rise to new theories. This program will last 45 minutes and is appropriate for grades: 1 through adult.

This 45-minute visually exciting presentation is perfect for the Museum's Auditorium and captures your interest.  Up, Up, and Away shows how exciting science can be.  The performance includes  a variety of eye-popping demonstrations and experiments.  There is plenty of opportunity for hands-on audience participation.  Some of the topics and demonstrations include: the three states of matter; air pressure (using the Madgeburg Sphere); a Hot Air Balloon; the Mad Science Hovercraft; a giant size vortex generator; and finally the Big Sneeze demonstration.

This  45-minute presentation is designed to introduce science to elementary age children.  In it, the Mad Scientist uses simple but exciting experiments and demonstrations that involve you in the discovery process of science. Included in the program are experiments such as the "Growing Hand", "5 Test Tube Salute", the "Famous, Flaming Didgeridoo" and the "Fantastic Flying Foam Factory".  There is also opportunity for audience participation in a few of the experiments.

Dave FryeDave Fry: Fryed Folk Songs

Dave Fry turns folk selections - both widely known and new to kids' ears - into true adventures.  He sings of wild animal excursions and at-home thrills like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, moving with ease from the downright silly "I Want to Be a Dog" to the joyfully rockin' "Splish Splash."  A Dave Fry concert is so much fun that kids don't realize they're having a history lesson too.  It's not quite rock 'n roll but there's plenty of shaking going on.

This 45-minute presentation is designed to introduce science to elementary age children.  In Fire & Ice the Mad Scientist uses simple but exciting experiments and demonstrations that directly involve you in the discovery process of science.  Learn how to make a 'scientific hypothesis' and uses 'experimentation' to test the hypothesis.  Fire & Ice includes experiments involving air pressure, flash paper, Eggbert, Bernoulli's Principle and dry ice.
