Fauna-thon Beats 15-yr Average

GoldenrodGroup for the East End's Fauna-thon took place on May 22nd and the final tally (222 species) was just above the 15-year average (217 species). From pre-dawn to post-dusk, teams of naturalists scoured the five East End Towns looking for as many species of amphibians, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, mammals, and reptiles as they could find.

Find out more by reading Jeremy Samuelson's blog.
New Grants Protect Peconic Bay

The Group received four mini-grants from the Peconic Estuary Program this spring.
An expanded spring planting program (2011), educational outreach, stormwater remediation, and the creation of a new educational trail in Bridgehampton are among our new projects.
