This year's Bank Tech University is shaping up to be our best yet.  Bankers from Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee have secured their spots for this special event.  We hope to see you at the Embassy Suites Memphis March 17-19.

In this issue, we take time to contrast and compare Bank Tech University (BTU) versus Bank Tech Summit (BTS).  We continue our Facebook Fan Fest by offering all of our Facebook fans an opportunity to win a Flip camcorder.  One lucky Facebook fan will be a winner on March 10th.  Finally, we feature our Security Awareness for Bankers service, a pain-free way to make your fellow bank employees aware of the latest security threats while fulfilling your bank's responsibilities for complying with current information security laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Thank you for your continued readership and support.
Bank Tech University Versus Bank Tech Summit - What's the Difference?
We sometimes get the question:  What is the difference in Bank Tech University (BTU) and Bank Tech Summit (BTS)?

Good question.  Allow us to shed some light on our two popular but unique annual events.

The difference in BTU versus BTS?

- BTU is held in the spring.  BTS is held in the fall.

- BTU is a two and one-half day event.  BTS is a one and one-half day event.

- BTU has a tactical focus.  BTS has a strategic focus.

- BTU faculty consists of the Sawyers & Jacobs team.  BTS includes guest speakers from the banking and technology industries.

- BTU does not have provider exhibits.  BTS does have provider exhibits.

- BTU sessions are three-hour deep dives on specific topics.  BTS sessions are typically one-hour presentations on strategies and trends.

- BTU offers the chance to attend one day or multiple days.  BTS is one event with contiguous sessions.

How are BTU and BTS similar?

- Both are presented by Sawyers & Jacobs and the Barret School of Banking

- Both offer Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits

- Both are a great way to network with your peers

- Both have fabulous prizes and great food

- Both are entertaining, informative, and educational

- Both are held in Memphis, the Home of the Blues and the  Birthplace of Rock and Roll

- Both represent national conference values for regional conference prices

- Both events allow us to give back to an industry that has been very good to us

We hope this clarifies the differences and similarities of these two annual events.  Come to BTU on March 17-19 then make plans to attend BTS in the fall.

Security Awareness for Bankers
Effective security awareness is one of the best security measures your bank can employ.  Engaged, educated, and aware employees are human firewalls that become the bank's best line of defense against the ever-growing list of security threats.

At Sawyers & Jacobs, we have developed a bank-specific Security Awareness session that is well-suited for all bank employees, from tellers to the CEO.  This session can be delivered live and in-person, via webcast, or as part of a self-paced PowerPoint.  The Security Awareness session includes a 20-question test designed to emphasize the security lessons learned.

If you are interested in Sawyers & Jacobs making your life easier and your employees more aware of security issues, please call Jimmy Sawyers at 901.487.2575 or email Jimmy at jsawyers@sawyersjacobs.com for a formal proposal.
