Freedom Is Not Free has had a busy summer.  Please read the articles below so you can learn what we have been doing, and who we have helped.

Thanks for your support of military families!
Wounded Warriors We Have Helped

CORPORAL JUSTIN, UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS

Corporal Justin was a Scout/Sniper in the United States Marine Corps.  While deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom he was involved in seven explosions, all resulting in casualties.  Corporal Justin received a spinal injury, nerve and disk damage, right shoulder and hip damage, as well as PTSD and TBI.  The VA awarded him 100% disability payments, but they temporarily dropped to 90% due to an admitted 'administrative error'.  FREEDOM IS NOT FREE helped to cover moving expenses during this period while Corporal Justin moved to Pittsburg to utilize the GI Bill and pursue his Masters Degree in Counterterrorism.

Freedom Is Not Free held four two-day camps in July and August at the beautiful Kellogg Park in La Jolla Shores.  One hundred children of injured, deployed, and active duty Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers learned how to surf and made some new friends.  Thanks to our generous sponsors, each family was given one brand new surfboard.

2011 America's Heroes Calendar

turn pictures on to view imageSome of America's studliest veterans have posed for the Freedom Is Not Free America's Heroes 2011 Calendar to raise money for wounded service members and their families, and the families of the fatally wounded. The eleven men featured in the America's Heroes 2011 Calendar are all former members of our nation's armed forces with combat experience. None are professional models (but they could be!).  ALL of the proceeds from this calendar will benefit those who we support:  America's wounded and their families, and the families of the fallen.
