Greetings!
This Independence Day, we'd like to take a moment to just say.....Thank You! Thank you for supporting our men and women of armed services of this great nation and their families now and throughout the year. Without your support, we could not continue to provide financial support and quality of life support to our nation's heroes -- the wounded and their families and the families of the fallen.
 Once again, U.S. forces have undertaken a massive operation in hostile terrain far from home. At this very moment, 4,000 Marines are securing villages and towns in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan in an effort to root out Taliban fighters and make these hamlets safe for the Afghan people.
This weekend, we will all enjoy barbecues with friends and family as we celebrate the 233rd  anniversary of our independence. Please keep in mind as you do so that there are thousands of families across America who won't have their father or mother, son or daughter, husband or wife with them to celebrate because that brave Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine has answered the call to duty. Their loved ones, and others who've gone before them, gave us this freedom to celebrate our independence knowing we are safe and our freedoms are secure!
As you enjoy your holiday this weekend, celebrating our country's independence, take a moment to reflect on the sacrifice of our  brave men and women in uniform and the sacrifices of their families. If you see a Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine at a parade or event, take a moment to say, 'Thanks!' And thank their families, too, those who give them the support they need to carry out their missions and who do without their loved one as a result of their sacrifice. These are little things that mean a lot and that we can all do and feel good about doing them.
