Greetings! The weather forecast is calling for beautiful weather this long weekend, a perfect end to summer. Shop the market this week for all of your grilling supplies from pork, beef and chicken, veggies and even fruit! Have you tried a grilled peach yet?
This week we are joined by two terrific non-profits, Zonta and Journey for 9/11. Stop by to learn about their missions and you might even get to meet Ringwood's own George Martin!

Vendor News
Sad news from Stefan and Son ~ after 30 years in business, owner Jerry has sold his shop and will no longer be at our market. Thank you for being a part of our market Jerry, we will miss you and we wish you success in the future!
Snoep Winkel Farm ~ Many thanks to all for your kind words of encouragement and all the prayers on Gary's behalf and for the whole family. He had his surgery this past Tuesday, and after a bit of a setback, they were finally able to release him home Tuesday night. He is in a lot of pain, so prayers for his comfort would be greatly appreciated, but he is so glad that the surgery is finally behind him.
Since the holiday weekend is upon us, I will be bringing down lots of the usual grill fare: quarter-pound burgers, steaks, sweet & hot Italian sausage, our split -chickens, pork chops, London Broils, etc. Don't forget to pick up eggs to make deviled eggs or for your potato salad. The whole family hopes you have a safe and happy holiday weekend. God bless!
 | | Have you tried Golden Beets yet? |
Janet's Baked Goods ~ Is coming to the market with fresh apple crisp made with local apples, and an oatmeal crumb topping - the first of the season! She'll also have assorted fresh baked breads and sweets (can you say mini monkey breads? ), roasted vegetable focaccia made with fresh squash from Red Barn & Bialas Farms, fresh goat cheese from Edgwick Farms then seasoned and roasted to perfection on a soft focaccia dough - made by Janet!
Red Barn Farm ~ Fall is just around the corner, why not celebrate by decorating the house with some festive autumn gourds? We will have various decorative gourds for sale this week as well as potatoes for those hearty fall soups. Try one of our favorites, potato and leek soup. 2-3 large potatoes peeled and diced, 2 medium leeks diced, 7 1/2 cups stock (veg or chicken), 1 cup light cream. Salt and pepper to taste. Combine everything but the cream and simmer for 45 min. Puree or leave chunky, add cream and bring up to a simmer. Enjoy!
Bialas Farms ~ The Great Bean Blow-out last week proved popular and we sold out in no time! Rest assured, we'll be bringing MORE beautiful Green Beans this week. If you haven't tried Golden Beets, this is the week to do so. They are gorgeous, and the tops are edible - just cook them like spinach. Arugula and Lettuces are back this week so be sure to get a week's worth. Looking for something to bring to Labor Day parties? Veggie platters are perfect! Go with an assortment of Kirby Cukes, Cherry Tomatoes, Carrots, Beans, Rainbow Peppers (hollow out a pepper and fill with your favorite dip). Or perhaps corn on the cob will be your contribution? Enjoy the holiday, and good luck to all of our returning students!
Edge of Knife won't be back until October 6th. Walnut Grove Farms returns on September 15th.
Don't forget our other great vendors: B&B Jams, Bialas Farms, Conturso's Market, Edgwick Farm, Fontanarosa's, Hudson Valley Pantry, The Joi of Pickles, Moon Doggie Coffee Roasters, Orchards of Concklin, Pastabilities, Red Barn Farm, R&L Greenhouses and Snoep Winkel Farm.
