Former fish market becomes creative aquarium for Calgary's art scene
There's something a little, well, fishy going on in an abandoned seafood market in Calgary's East Village where a colourful mix of characters can be seen coming and going during curiously reasonable working hours.
"It's really very magical here. This has become my sanctuary," says 44-year-old visual artist Leslie Sweder during a tour of her studio inside the building.

The Calgary Real Estate market seemed to explode in June!
Sales of both Single Family Homes (31.8%) and Condominiums (30.6%) increased over June 2010. Listings continued a downward trend as Single Family Homes (-20.8%) and Condominiums (-29.8%) showed a decrease over June 2010. Listings for 2011 have consistently been lower than the comparative month in 2010 as the arbitrary Seller is not willing to test the market yet.
