Seasoned firewood. Photo by Mary Carkin.Greetings!

All of Lake City's creatures have been preparing for winter.  We've had several dustings of snow in town, and the peaks around us are building up a nice white base.

Thoughts shift to preparing the ski hill, the snowmobile trails, the yurts, and the ice climbing cliffs.  Lake Citians have been busy cutting, splitting, and stacking firewood.  And the squirrels have been unusually active storing pinecones anywhere they can (including in the crevices of one resident's stack of wood).  A sign of a snowy winter to come?

We've included links to a new photo album and another new video for you in this month's newsletter.  Enjoy!
