Spring in Lake City Brings Busy-ness
Greetings!
The grass is just starting to sprout here in town, while the mountains are getting some spring snows. The elk are moving, the owls are hooting, the flickers are pecking on our roofs, and we have seen the first robins of spring.
The people have been busier than the animals, preparing for summer. There are some new businesses cropping up, plus new events and old favorites being planned. See our new business listings at our website business directory. You can plan your visit online at www.lakecity.com or give us a call at 1-800-569-1874 if you have any questions |

Fun Learning Vacations
If you're tired of doing the same old thing, or if you are looking for something new to make some memories with your friends or family, it's time to take a learning vacation. There's nothing dreary about learning in Lake City, where you'll find teachers and guides to lead the way.
- Find fly fishing workshops and guides for never-evers and experienced fishers. Find out why Lake City is a fishing mecca.
- Hiking guides can show you the best routes and explain the geology, history, and flora and fauna of the area. Great for wildlife viewing, photographers, artists, families, and folks who are new to the area.
- Guided four-wheel drive tours are a perfect way to let someone else take the wheel so you can sit back and enjoy the ride. These guides know the history, geology, and wildlife of the area and can take you on an unforgettable tour of the Alpine Loop or any of the side spurs.
- Guided walking tours sponsored by the Hinsdale County Historical Society showcase the most interesting facets of Lake City's history, and include tours of the National Historic District, the cemeteries, historic homes, and, our most active ghosts!
- Explore more of your brain with an art class from any of five different artists who offer classes in Lake City. Lamp working glass, watercolor painting, arts and crafts, doll making, and fiber arts.
- Enroll the kids or grandkids in one of the Moseley Arts Center's youth art camps for visual arts, dance, or theatre. Or, take the Adult Art Camp for yourself!
- Is there something else you'd like to learn? Belly dancing, clogging, quilting, photography, beading, or anything else your heart desires to learn can be coordinated by one of our newest businesses, Linny's Stay & Play. Linny offers custom learning vacations, including teachers or guides, plus lodging.
