BMA Coordinates City Council Endorsements with Equestrians, Climbers, Runners, and Dog Guardians
The BMA Advocacy Team has learned a few lessons in politics this year (courtesy of the school of hard knocks). One - who is in power is more important than the justice of your cause. Two - we need to work with partners to change who is in power.
To that end, BMA has partnered with the Boulder Outdoor Coalition to interview council candidates, ask the hard questions, and find council members that can support reasonable and responsible access to our open space lands.
The BOC/BMA slate of endorsements:
Ken Wilson
George Karakehian
Dan King
Fenno Hoffman
Come Have a Beer With the Candidates This Wednesday at the
Movement Rock Gym
Now we need your help to get these steady hands and fair minds elected. There will be a Boulder Outdoor Coalition "Meet the Candidates" party this Wednesday, September 28, at the Movement Rock Gym, 2845 Valmont Road, 5:30 - 7:00 pm. All BMAers are invited to the event. Come meet the people that may well decide whether bikes get fair access to our open space lands. Let them know you are a mountain biker and that you support them. Take a yard sign; write them a check.
Stay tuned for future events where we will be recruit help to get these good people elected by collating our literature drop packets, by doing the literature drop, and through get out the vote efforts.
We need you to be the change you want to see in the world. If you feel that bikes have gotten the short end of the stick lately, make sure you are an "active" voter and VOTE for the BOC/BMA slate!
