Sufferfest Already Half Full!
 | | Click for the big map! |
Caribou Ranch, site of the world-famous, historic Caribou Ranch Recording Studio, will open the gates to cyclists for the first time ever for the 1st Annual Caribou Classic mountain bike ride. Caribou Classic has partnered with BMA to help grow and promote the annual Sufferfest ride. BMA will also be a primary beneficiary of future Caribou Classic events.
We have a new venue that includes more miles, more smiles, and a rockin' new staging area. This year, you will have your choice of two routes: the 37 mile Caribou Classic Route or the 50 mile SufferFest route. Choose wisely!
Either way, we will start and end the ride at the famous Caribou Ranch outside of Nederland. That means closer camping and no crazy shuttle back to your car Sunday morning. And as usual, Oskar Blues will be waiting for you with cold beverages and food at the finish line!
Register now, and while you're there, make sure your membership is up to date - this ride is for members only. Sign up or renew today to take advantage of this great ride.
Only 100 riders will enjoy the trails this year and 45 people have already registered! Sign up now!
Thanks too, to our sponsors: Caribou Classic, Oskar Blues, MSI, Mountain Media, Kelty, Stinger, Acli-Mate, and the Trek Store.

Sugar Mag Work Continues
BMA will be organizing a day of trail building and restoration on September 24th to finish the recent re-route on the popular Sugar Magnolia Trail. It will be an opportunity to learn how to build important bike specific attributes of the trail. The work will be strenuous but rewarding. Look at all these smiling faces!
Work will include building rock mono wall to support the trail, bench cutting trail, adding rock pinch points, cleaning up backslope and restoring the damaged areas created by recent forestry work. It's very important for BMA to have a strong effort and continue to demonstrate that we can build fun sustainable trails. If we expect to continue the progression of trail design in the West Mag area then we need to show up and make this a quality finished product.
We will need 15-20 volunteers with the will to work hard and see their efforts pay off. Please sign up in advance so we can accurately plan our needs for the day

The Mountainbike Festival Rocked!
This past Sunday BMA hosted the first racing at the completed Valmont Bike Park. While the Colorado Slope Style event gained a ton of attention with back flips and tailwhips, the whole place was hopping - dual slalom, xc racing, and jumpy castle included.
We had a blast, and hope everyone else did too!
