Anemone Hill Meeting Tomorrow
On Wednesday August 17, the Open Space Board of Trustees (OSBT) will discuss the possibility of mountain bike-accessible trails on Anemone Hill, just west of downtown Boulder. This idea was a bone thrown to the cycling community by City Council after the tragic end to our West TSA efforts, yet the Open Space Department staff has said "no" over and over again. The OSBT meeting is one important step in reversing this trend.
The meeting is at 5050 Pearl Street at 6pm. Come out and be heard. Read the recap of the West TSA issues with Anemone Hill and find out more, here.
Can't make the meeting? Ready to have your say? Send an email NOW!

Reroute Sourdough At Brainard Road
If you love trails up in the forest, and you missed the July 30 South Sourdough reroute project, all is not lost. You still have a chance this year to give something back.
The fancy new lot with bathrooms and a warming hut at the old Sourdough crossing is great, but the trail is in need of a reroute. BMA and the Forest Service have roughed in a new trail section. We need help to finish it off.
This project is Saturday, August 27, but you can come up Friday, after work, for an early evening ride and overnight camp out if you want to. There will be BMA folks there and some beer Friday evening.
If you can't come up Friday, be there on Saturday, by 8:30AM. There will be coffee, juice and light breakfast snacks for folks who get there early or who have camped over. Work until 2, and then relax with food and refreshments courtesy of BMA and our sponsors.

Boulder Mountainbike Festival!
On August 28th Valmont Bike Park's first bike race, the Boulder Mountainbike Festival, will kick off! It blends the best features of the park for a jam packed day of skills, racing and big air! BMA is partnering with the City of Boulder to create this special event as an annual fundraiser for the park.
Come out for the Boulder Escape mountain bike race, the Dual Slalom Clinics and racing, or the Colorado State Slopestyle Championships.
Plenty of the park will still be open in addition to the races, fun, jumpy castles, and libations. It's gonna be a good day to spectate or race. Or both!

Trails Update
| |
Over the weekend we managed to open 3200' of fabulous new tread and reclaim around 2300' of old tread on Sugar Mag Trail.
We'd like to thank those who came out as well as WRV for their organizational work.
It looks like we'll try for at least one more day of work out there, hopefully in September.
Stay tuned!
