Mid-summer Activity Update
How's your riding been this summer? Ours has been amazing! The BMA leadership has done rides all over the state, and the country, and every time we come home, we end up loving our little slice of Colorado more and more. We love it here, and we want to make it better, and have some super fun at the same time.
Have you checked out the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance calendar lately? We have a ton of things going on in the next 30 days - trail building, our regularly scheduled rides, new jerseys to sell (and beer to drink!) and Sufferfest is right on the horizon.
We're also recruiting new Board members. Are you interested in playing a larger role in BMA's successes? Hit reply, and let us know you'd like to make a difference.
On to the events - click the links for more info:
August 11: Gurlz Ride, Heil Valley Ranch. Are you a lady? And you haven't attended one of these? They're awesome, no drop rides for beginners to pro racers.
August 13/14: Trailwork, Sugar Mag in Nederland. This has gained a bunch of attention lately. Sign up and rebuild the connector from the Ned high School and the West Mag trail system.
August 16: Jersey Release Party! Not one but two kegs of beer at business member The Pro's Closet. Be the first BMA members to buy our first jersey. We could also use some folks to help out, so let us know if you can give a hand for a bit before or during the event.
August 17: Learn to Ride Valmont w/Lee McCormack. 20% of registration fees go back to the park. Can't make this night? More classes on the 24th & 27th & 31st.
August 17: Anemone Hill trails discussed by Open Space Board of Trustees. Show up and make a difference! Let's get bike trails close to Boulder downtown! August 20: Knobby Weekend, Preview Suffefest. While Sufferfest takes most riders all day, the Knobby Weekend preview will feature various rides for riders of all levels. August 27: Sourdough Reroute @ the Brainard Road intersection. Recent reconstruction of the road/trailhead require a reworking of the trail. Camping available the night before too.
August 28: Boulder Mountainbike Festival, Valmont Bike Park. A fundraiser for the Park with racing, fun for all ages, and maybe even some food and beverages!
September 10/11: Sufferfest! Registration now open! We're working to update this year's course, and will have the usual camping/food/beer/fun for BMA members ready to take on our biggest social ride of the year! |
