National Trails Day!

ntdJoin 60 volunteers as we celebrate National Trails Day and help construct the new Fourmile connection that will eventually connect the Benjamin Trail to Fourmile Canyon.

Boulder County will partner with the Boulder Mountainbike Alliance and Oskar Blues, who will be sponsoring an after party. Volunteer trail-builders will use hand tools to build new trail through forest groves and open meadows while enjoying spectacular views and fresh mountain air. The trail work is on steep terrain and will require a 1 mile hike to get to the work site.

This project will run from 8:30am-1:00pm. Minimum age is 14 with adult supervision. To register please visit here or call 303-678-6193 by June 1st.  When you sign up, please indicate that you are a BMA volunteer.

Baily Hundo Needs Help

On June 18th there will be a 100 mile mountain bike race in Bailey, CO.  There will be 250 participants, whom are invited to participate through a selective application process.  This biking event is a non-profit and supports three youth biking initiatives in Colorado (Trips for kids, Colorado High School Cycling League, Kids on BIkes, Colorado Mountain Bike Association).

Think that sounds cool? We do! Sign up to help out here:allo@bailey100.com

Valmont Posse!

We need people to step up and volunteer to interact with the public for opening weekend at Valmont Bike Park on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12.

So Valmont Bike Park opens on June 11 and we have no idea how many people to expect. To keep things running smoothly, the City of Boulder Parks and Recreation Department has asked for your help. They want to train up some people to know the park so that you can be on hand for some shift work Saturday, June 11, 8am-8pm and Sunday, June 12, 10am-6pm. Your help will also be needed throughout the summer.

You will be required to attend a training session at the park on Tuesday May 24th or Thursday May 26th from 5-7pm (additional details will be sent to you once we have them finalized). Yes, that means you get to ride the park before everyone else. But we need you to understand the layout of the park so you can tell XC and DJ riders where to go, so you can help people understand that different park features are built for different ability levels, and so you can answer people's questions about the park and keep everything running smoothly.

Basically, your job will be to hang out at the park, smile, interact with the public, and provide information. Volunteers should be 16 years of age or older. Not a bad way to volunteer your time, eh?

Store Open

We've seen some huge success since opening our online store. Need some socks (don't we all?) or a swanky new T-shirt with the fabulous BMA logo? Head on over and get 'em. It's one more way to help expand BMA's exposure and unsure that we have the money we need to continue the work we do.

Valmont gear is available now!!
