Your Name at Valmont
You've been jonesing for this moment for over 2 years. You've peered through the fence to catch glimpses of the amazing trails, jump lines, pump tracks, and park amenities. You know it in your heart and down to the soles of your 5-10 shoes that Valmont Bike Park will become truly world-famous and will be an unparalleled asset to the city of Boulder. And, you're ready to ride the Park. That moment arrives in just a few weeks .... opening day is June 11th, 2011.
Show your support for these folks and help see Valmont Bike Park over the finish line by donating to the Park today.
This is your last chance to get bragging rights that your hard-earned cash went into Valmont Bike Park. BMA is partnering with the Parks Department on some last-minute fundraising, to support finishing touches at the park... the devil is always in the details. Ready for some extra bonus points? Donate at the $250 and up level before May 27th and your name will be added to the donor board at the park! That's right, every time you go get a quick pump workout or take your kids to the kiddie track, you can point to the Donor Board and say "Yes, this is my Park. I helped make it happen."

Valmont Bike Posse
We need people to step up and volunteer to interact with the public for opening weekend at Valmont Bike Park on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12.
So Valmont Bike Park opens on June 11 and we have no idea how many people to expect. To keep things running smoothly, the City of Boulder Parks and Recreation Department has asked for your help. They want to train up some people to know the park so that you can be on hand for some shift work Saturday, June 11, 8am-8pm and Sunday, June 12, 10am-6pm. Your help will also be needed throughout the summer.
You will be required to attend a training session at the park on Tuesday May 24th or Thursday May 26th from 5-7pm (additional details will be sent to you once we have them finalized). Yes, that means you get to ride the park before everyone else. But we need you to understand the layout of the park so you can tell XC and DJ riders where to go, so you can help people understand that different park features are built for different ability levels, and so you can answer people's questions about the park and keep everything running smoothly.
Basically, your job will be to hang out at the park, smile, interact with the public, and provide information. Volunteers should be 16 years of age or older. Not a bad way to volunteer your time, eh? Register here: https://bouldermountainbike.org/civicrm/event/info?id=23&reset=1

Outreach at Marshall Mesa
BMA's continuing effort to help create a more friendly and welcoming trail experience for all users takes a another step forward this Sunday. We'll have a table set up at the Marshall Mesa Trailhead with fresh fruit, Clif Bars, free bike bells, and BMAetween numbers of 's brand spankin' new trail etiquette brochure.
There seems to be and inverse relationship between numbers of people on the trail and courtesy; when numbers go up, courtesy goes down. We can't build our way out of this problem, we must all work to get along and learn to enjoy the outdoors with our neighbors.
We'll have our table set up between 11am and 1pm... If you plan to ride Marshall Mesa on Sunday, come on down and say hello; and if you don't have a bike bell installed on your handlebar, we can fix that asap!

Store Opens
|
As you read this, we are moments away from opening our online store. Need some socks (don't we all?) or a swanky new T-shirt with the fabulous BMA logo? Head on over and get 'em. It's one more way to help expand BMA's exposure and unsure that we have the money we need to continue the work we do.
Don't see what you want? We're expanding selection soon, so check back. We're hoping to have jerseys added soon!
