Flashback w/Gary Fisher
Our friends at the Trek Bicycle Store in Boulder are hosting a fundraiser for BMA and the CO High School Mountain Bike League. Awesome! They've flown Gary Fisher in, trucked over some Avery Beer (and custom pint glasses), and are breaking out the disco ball. Ride your bike on over for a good time for two great bike causes.

Heil Ranch Work
Saturday 16th we're partnering with Boulder County Parks and Open Space for a spring campaign to improve the Wapiti Trail at Heil Valley Ranch. With your help, we'll reshap the trail tread using rock armoring to shore up the more vulnerable sections. Our goal is not to finish every project on each day, but to continue from week to week as we move our way up the trail to the Ponderosa junction.
We will meet at the South trailhead off Left Hand Canyon, Geer Canyon at the pavilion at 8:15 AM. Our project site will be near the bridge above the meadow. We will be working on an area that has limited visibility and north facing slopes and trying to improve the trail to improve user sight paths and drainage. We will run till ~12:30pm with an option to stay longer if there is need and interest. Please bring Water, Sunscreen, Pants, Sturdy Boots, work gloves and snacks. All volunteers must preregister for this workday. Click here and come help out!

| Betasso Rules! |
It's that time of the year again: the weather has changed and we're all chomping at the bit to get out there and ride more. Betasso is always a great choice: close to home, technical limb to the loop (if riding from town), and good views. With the opening of the Benjamin trail right around the corner, we know traffic will increase a ton.
We've heard of a few folks who haven't paid attention to the daily closures to mountain bikes. Betasso is closed Wednesdays and Saturdays, and directional travel is required on the loop. Please heed the rules so we can continue to work to open new trails like Benjamin.

| Congrats Jenn! |
If you've done any trailwork with us in the last who knows how many years, you've surely met our trail goddess Jenn A. She's been organizing and running our trail work program with huge successes. She's now being recognized by Boulder County Open Space as an Outstanding Volunteer.
The next time you see her at a trail day make sure to say congrats.
Jenn, you rule! Thanks for all your hard work, you've done amazing work to making our local trails better places to ride!

| Vehicle Breakins | |
The City and County are reporting an increase in vehicle breakins at open space trailheads. Stay vigilant when you are pulling into the trail heads, whether in your car or on your bike. If you notice something suspicious, don't attempt to intervene - just call 911 and the rangers or sherrif/police will be there lickety-split to check it out. These break-ins are sometimes crimes of opportunity when a purse or valuable is in plain view - protect yourself by locking your car and have nothing of value in plain view, including GPS, phone chargers, and backpacks.
