Ride the BMA Mixer

The Final BMA Mixer Ride of the year will be Tues Sept 7th at 5:30PM meeting at the Marshall Mesa Trail Head at the SE corner of Broadway/93 and Marshall Rd.

This is a FUN no drop ride, if needed we'll break up into smaller groups based upon ability. No RSVP required, just show up! Bring a bike, helmet, and water....plus an extra tube and a rain jacket.

Post ride, the MIX meets up with the Fleet Feet running group and the Full Cycle road ride at 7:30pm at Rueben's on the SE corner of Broadway and Walnut. If you can't make the ride come meet us at Rueben's for Happy Hour specials!
Valmont Update

Valmont Bike Park is NOT open yet.  Riders poaching the park were on the site today, and caused damage to the site.  The damage caused will delay the park, and anyone caught riding on site will be prosecuted by the city.  Very poor form was demonstrated by these riders and reflects negatively on BMA and the community.  If you are thinking about sneaking over the fence for a preview, get ready for a date with the judge, our friends at the Parks Department have issued a very stern warning.  The Parks Department is bending over backwards to expedite the construction and provide a great riding/racing/training facility, and these riders are making their job harder.
Volunteer for Sufferfest!

As with every great event, volunteers make it happen. SufferFest needs you to donate some time and energy to support the riders and make sure everything goes as smooth as butter. We have over 20 volunteer positions that need to be filled Friday the 17th and Sunday the 18thIf you can spare a couple hours either day, contact sufferfest.bma@gmail.com right away and we'll help you find the job that suits you best, and make sure you've got time for a ride that day.

First Monday moves to Second Monday

Due to the Labor Day holiday, we'll be moving BMA's First Monday happy hour to the second Monday of September. Mark your calendars for 5pm-ish on Monday, September 13th.  Location is TBD, so stay tuned on Facebook to find out the next location to meet and greet old and new BMA friends.
Build New Trail at Betasso

Join 50 volunteers, BMA, REI and Boulder County Parks and Open Space as we celebrate National Public Lands Day September 25 and help construct the new Benjamin Trail, a multi-use trail that will eventually connect to the existing loop trail at Betasso Preserve.

Volunteer trail builders will use hand tools to build new trail through forest groves and open meadows while enjoying spectacular views and fresh mountain air. Due to steep and rugged backcountry terrain, this project will be physically strenuous.

This project will run from approximately 8:30am until approximately 3:30pm. Light breakfast provided by REI, lunch provided by BMA. To register, please email  WildWorkVolunteers@BoulderCounty.org or call 303-678-6216 by September 22nd.

Volunteers for Adaptive MTB Clinic September 11th

Here's a great way to help share our love of mountain biking with a truly inspiring group. This is the 3rd year BMA has helped the City of Boulder EXPAND Program tow adaptive riders up Marshall Mesa & support them thru tricky sections on the trail.

To register a disabled athlete that would benefit from this free clinic, or to volunteer for a morning or afternoon shift, contact: Colleen Fitzgerald

Know Trails?

Do you ride the trails of Boulder County? That might be a bit of a silly question, but we can use your help. BMA is rolling out the biggest and raddest new website ever and we need help from YOU!

We are writing descriptions of every major trail in the county to go in an online guide on the site. As you can imagine, our fingers are getting pretty sore from all that typing! If you have some time to help out, we need it! Please contact us if you are interested and we'll let you write the description for your favorite trails! Then, it will be posted on the website and you can tell your family and friends that you did it! (That's almost as good as "Look Ma! I'm on TeeVee!").

Thanks in advance, The BMA Web Team
