Film Night 2010
BMA Movie Night

Follow Me is a new mountain bike movie from the crew who brought you the Collective, Roam and Seasons. The first release from the crew's new company Anthill Films, Follow Me takes the viewer inside the action, capturing the nique perspectives and HD imagery the crew is famous for.

A modern portrait of mountain bike lifestyle, Follow Me gets back to basics and reminds us why we all love to ride bikes. Breaking from the traditional single rider format, Follow Me is based on the idea that "no one rides alone"; mixing and matching the world's best downhillers, freeriders and slopestylers in some of the best places to ride on the planet. Think back-yard sessions, ripping local trails, training bike parks, epic road trips and heli drops. Follow Me is all about good times, pushing limits with your friends, crazy adventures and most importantly having fun your bike.

BCPOS Recognizes BMA for Long Term Partnership

On Wednesday, April 21, BCPOS and the Boulder County Commissioners held their annual "Land Conservation Awards" Ceremony at BCPOS Headquarters.  Since 1992, Boulder County has honored individuals or groups with its Land Conservation Award for outstanding contributions made to the conservation, preservation and protection of the county's land-based environmental resources.

These contributions have included achievements in agriculture, wildlife habitat, forestry, open space and conservation education and volunteer services.  This is the first time BCPOS has recognized a group for partnership efforts.  BMA's long term volunteer and financial commitment to the design, construction and maintenance of sustainable trails throughout the BCPOS system is cited as the factors that warranted this recognition.

If you ride on dirt trails in Boulder County, you've ridden trails built and maintained by BMA volunteer resources.  In the case of the Wild Turkey and Picture Rock trails, BMA partnered with BCPOS on trail design.  We believe these two trails are the best trails we've done to date, and it's this partnership and willingness to work together that made it possible.

Since 1991,BMA volunteers have contributed more than 13,000 volunteer hours working on our trails in BCPOS lands.  If you are one of those volunteers, give yourself a pat on the back.  It's your passion for making the trails something we can be proud of that is making the difference.

Build Trail at Betasso!
May 1st

BCPOS needs help.  Please come out and help construct new multi-use singletrack at Betasso Preserve on May 1.  Celebrate spring and help construct the new Benjamin Trail, a multi-use path that will eventually connect to the existing loop trail at Betasso Preserve. Volunteer trail-builders will use hand tools to build new trail through forest groves and open meadows while enjoying spectacular views and freshmountain air. Due to steep and rugged backcountry terrain, this project will be physically strenuous and will include at least three miles of hiking. This project will run from 8:30am- 2:00pm. Minimum age is 14 with adult supervision. To register please email WildWorkVolunteers@BoulderCounty.org or call 303-678-6216 by April 28. Please be sure to let them know you are a BMA recruit.
