LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM ~

Guests: -- Karen White, Assistant District Governor, Ron VanRoyen, DT Rotary, Charlotte Nennig, soon to be an Early Bird

(REMINDER~register your guests on the sign in sheet!!)

Updates:   The Early Bird Golf team was reported was reported to finish 8 under--NICE job!  The Harlem Ambassadors are scheduled to be an Early Bird Rotary fund raiser at South High on October 4th -- THANKS to JJ for spear heading this!  Karen did a brief update to our members on the next year's theme:  Peace through Service.  And, the deadline for simplified grants is March 31st FIRM.

PROGRAM- Roberta Filicky-Peneski gave a very interesting presentation of the ingredients to run a political campaign: people, places, things, time.  She declared she would run for Mayor on December 6, and by 7:30 that evening she had her first media interview. She made over 100 phone calls to those close to her before the news hit the media and to get a sample of opinions.  Five weeks to mobilize volunteers, donors, voters and throw in the mix a holiday or two.  Her daughter told her 'mom, you must use social media' and in less than an hour had 19 hits on facebook.  She did manage to get to Denver for time with her family for the holiday.  She spent many, many days door to door meeting voters with Tom serving as the weather forecast monitor.  She spent a lot of time with media, TV 12,4,6; trying to appease them with media bites as they covered the unique Sheboygan Mayoral recall.  The number of candidates added a very unique challenge to what was a very smaill window of campaigning-but never say never, she may be back.

ROTARY FOUR WAY TEST
OF THE THINGS WE THINK, SAY OR DO:
  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOOD WILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
