LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM ~ Head Start

UPDATES:  Tom B. encouraged members to get their ticket stubs and money in the Greg Liebig ASAP - drawing will be December 15 - ONLY COUPLE WEEKS LEFT TO GET THOSE TICKETS SOLD!!  Rick Reiss reminded members to donate food items to ANY food pantry, but especially Bridgeway!  Dr. John shared a recommendation for a book everyone should read - China Study.

PROGRAM:  Greg Liebig's wife Theresa shared a very moving video with our members.   She then shared with the membership how the community partners with the family surrounding the children with a variety of services that include Education, Health, Nutrition, Family Services, Mental Health, and even how they serve those with various disabilities.  She distributed information that explains how they provide preschool and 4 year old kindergarten giving children a 'head start'.  Their goal is to reach those as identified using the Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines.  She also shared with the membership the MANY opportunities to get involved.  More information is available at their website.

As a past member of their policy council, this editor from personal experience can attest to the incredible job that all of the staff does will working with these children and their families.  These are the treasures of our future!
