LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM ~ Dave Graubner

Guests: -- Soon to be inducted Steve Roelse, soon to be approved Mary Hayword, Daniel Bateman of Spaceport and Ken King of Downtown Rotary

UPDATES:  Raffle tickets were distributed and it is CRITICAL that members sell their tickets since the purchase of the Packer tickets have been guaranteed by two of our members.  A reminder that our Christmas Party is coming us soon.  Rick Reiss distributed family assignements to each committee for shopping for Christmas and distribution of gifts.  Linda Cates has expressed an interest in following Scott Morrelle as President of Early Birds.  Mike announced that 1,064 coats were collected for Coats for Kids.  Thank was extended to those that helped with clean up of the Rotary intersection. Jim, Greg, Mike, Rick & Rick & Gerry.

PROGRAM:  Dave Graebner of Aurora did a very informative classification presentation. Dave shared fun personal information that included he 'stalked' his wife as he worked in the library.  They have 3 children: Sam, Mollie, Mary.   He enjoys skiing, hunting, golfing, and biking.  His mother was a nurse and he also went to school to become a nurse.   He and his wife worked in Thailand for 1.5 years in the 80's.  Dave has worked at a large medical vcenter in the Twin Cities. He feels it is very important to link jobs to the community.  Dave shared a very interesting presentation regarding Aurora- the 6th largest health care organization in the nation serving 1.2 million patients annually.  Dave went through some very informative facts about how health care is changing going from fragmented services to an intregrated system; protecting information while being transparent; service that is directed by patient choice versus plan directives; and care that is paid by what is done while managing to reduce costs.  Dave shared how their charity care in 2011 will be 20% higher than 2010.  MANY additional statistics and information was shared ~ I would strongly recommend having a cup of coffee with Dave and hearing more or if you missed the presentation....get the details from him.

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOOD WILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
