LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM ~ JUDGE ANGELA
Guests: Peter Giese (proposed member by Ed Unger); John Rummele of Downtown Rotary.
Announcements: Members were reminded to get their updated profile into to the membership committee AND their suggestion for someone to invite to a membership meeting. Ed Morgan issued a thank you to Bob Feider for his years of service to the development of the Early Bird Rotary Foundation as a separate 501c3.
Program: Judge Angela's classification talk had lots of fun facts. She is originally from New Jersey - She went to Columbia - She went to school with George Stefanopolous. She studied law at Marquette and fell in love with the Midwest. She worked in the D.A.'s office in Waukesha and Walworth. She practiced law in 20 counties in Wisconsin. She enjoys working in the area of parental rights. She is VERY glad that Carl Buesing invited her to check out the Early Birds. The have 3 daughters all of them enjoying figure skating and they just returned from a competition earning 8 medals between them. She is a lover of cvountry music. The biggest challenge but most important thing she strives for is to now make that transition from advocate to a neutral party and to not legislate from the bench.
ONE MORE TIME: A big THANK YOU must go out to past member Bob Imig who sold 51 tickets!!!
SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM ED MORGAN: It's Badger football time again, and that means Band Donor Recognition Day, which means that any member of our club can purchase 2 tickets for the game on September 10 which also allows 2 field passes for the Half Time show-down on the field with the UW Marching Band. This opportunity is available annually but only for 2 tickets on a first come basis. Tickets are $42 each (hey, college football is big business!) I must know by Friday Aug 26 so contact Ed Morgan directly if interested. |
