MPFA Annual Meeting Report

by Donna MacKinney, MPFA president

The Marbridge Parents & Family Association hosted its second annual Parents and Families Day on June 11. Scott McAvoy, vice president of operations, provided an update on developments at Marbridge over the last year as well as a peek at the plan for the coming year. Jana Kay, director of training & education, presented an in-depth look at the scope of the training program at Marbridge. She covered planning and programs as a whole, as well as the process for accommodating individual resident's goals and aspirations. As is always the case, we learned there's more to Marbridge than meets the eye!  After a brief business meeting, we adjourned to a neighboring church fellowship hall to enjoy Rudy's Barbecue. We are very appreciative of the time Scott and Jana spent with us.

As summer deepens, we'll plan activities for the pre-training week in early September. We hope to have another End of Summer Pool Party--a big hit last year--as well as more activities to add to our residents' last week of vacation. If you have suggestions or want to volunteer to help, please email us. We're always glad to get an idea or an extra set of hands.
