There's no better fun than a 4th of July parade through campus! At left, Spook Partlow leads the parade, while at right, Isabelle Engel shows her colors are red, white and blue. Behind Isabelle, Bill Ed Morton, Max Clampitt and Larry Hale line up in front of the Villa to begin the march.
Summer is a fun and busy time at Marbridge! More than 90 participants, including residents from all three campuses, employees, volunteers, and family members, participated in our first annual 4th of July parade from the Villa to the Village Community Center. Everyone looked colorfully proud on red-white-and-blue-decorated bikes, wheelchairs and walkers. Every person walking held an American Flag. At the end of the route, DeDe Ramirez and Mark Tuite displayed a large American Flag, and we pledged our allegiance. Best of all, this hot parade had a great ending--icy snow cones at the Community Center and cold watermelon at the Villa!
You'll read about other summer events in the upcoming fall issue of Marbridge Life, our print publication. (Want to subscribe? Contact Suzanne to get on the mailing list.)

Take us out to the ballgame!
Villa residents recently attended a Round Rock baseball game for a day of great entertainment. (L to R) Jennifer Stout, Mary Lou Zissa, Preston Buckner, Jack Miller, John Goodman, and Greg Bernfeld
We had a wonderful time taking 24 Villa Residents to the Round Rock Express Game to watch the Express play the Iowa Cubs on Monday, June 29. In spite of the hot weather, we all laughed, cheered, and participated in the various songs and dances during the game. MANY thanks to our six volunteers who helped make this a successful event: Eric Pedrosa, Laura Gonzales, Eunice Vela, John Wood, Margaret Milardo, and Destinee Greene.

Every July, we try to book Mr. Thrill for our entertainment for the monthly Villa birthday party. Our Elvis is actually Bill Harris, a junior high school English teacher for Pflugerville. As Elvis, he puts on an awesome show, and the residents adore him. "Elvis" entered the building on July 16 and, as always, put on a wonderful show. He interacts with the residents and is very energetic. We were screaming for "Elvis!" just like the old days.
