Good catch!

Nature at its finest!

Check out this nice large mouth bass that Jerry Ladner reeled in last week in our Nature and Fishing Class! It took him five minutes of hard fighting to land the 4-pound fish, but what a sweet accomplishment! He caught it with worm bait, for those of you who are into the technicalities of fishing.

Congratulations, Jerry!

Join us to help bring Christmas joy to the residents of Marbridge Village

Marbridge residents who live in our new Village community of 14 cottages are celebrating the first Christmas in their new homes. But they have no Christmas trees, nor decorations! Can you help? Your donation of $25, $50, $75 or $100 can help ensure that the six residents who live in each cottage will enjoy the spirit of the season with a beautiful, new Christmas tree in the living room. A donation of $200 will provide an entire new tree--complete with lights and decorations--for one cottage!

Longhorn teams racked up successes in October
Our golf team showed exceptional skill at the Special Olympic competitions held in College Station

The Marbridge Longhorns took to the road on October 22 for the Special Olympics Regional Fall Competition, this year held in College Station. Our golfers, in particular, finished with a spectacular performance. The two-player teams of Chuck Duggan and Coach Hughie Shaw and volunteer Donna Fox and Mike Rose brought home the gold.  Dena Shirley, our onsite leader for Project SEARCH teamed up with Ken Holfus to win a silver medal. The team of volunteer Pedro Castaneda and Kyle Leyden also won silver. Volunteer David Carr and Spook Partlow formed a partnership that won a bronze medal, as did the team of Coach Shelley McGinnis and Nick Buchanan.

Our softball teams also made a good showing. The Unified Team won gold, as did the B Team. The C Team took 4th place, making the competition an overall success for Marbridge.

"I'm pretty sure Marbridge had the biggest contingent at the games," said Coach Shelley. In all, 86 residents participated in the competition, which included aquatics, bocce, golf and softball.

Congratulations to all of our Marbridge athletes!
