Hurrah for Petite Sirah!
   
Oak Cliff Cellars' first wine, '07 Napa Petite Sirah, is now bottled, and to celebrate the occasion, we are hosting our Fall Release Event from 2 - 4 pm, Saturday, August 15 at Madrigal Winery in Calistoga.  
 
This wine has luscious fruit, not too high in alcohol and perfectly balanced for meals or sharing with friends. Only 43 were made and 10 of those are already reserved by wine club members.  Hurry and reserve 1/2 case or case now at pre-release price of $37.50/bottle ($42 after 9/15).

New Wines for Summer 

Uvaggio Rosato
A beautiful Rose that will remind you of warm summer days in Provence and the cooling Mistral winds.  This wine is made with Barbera grapes.  $12.  
 
Uvaggio '08 Vermentino
A light, fruity white made with the Vermentino grape from Italy.  It goes with all of your summer meals and will be reminscent of Pinot Grigio. $14.
 
Kasuari '08 Rose'
Michael Peters has come up with something very special here -- a rose' made from Pinot Noir grapes.  This wine has a translucent cherry hue in the glass, off-dry and citrus cherry on the palate.  Remember Cherry Limeade, but without the syrup?  $19.
 
Kasuari '08 Sauvignon Blanc  
True to the characteristics of this grape, this wine is pale straw in color, has delicate citrus nose and blends flavors of green tea, lime zest and a touch of bell pepper to make it that perfect wine for seafood or as a nice follow up to that martini or gin and tonic you had for starters! $29. 
 
And don't forget Olabisi '06 Mendocino Chardonnay and '07 Carneros Chardonnay!

 
 Chef KAT is on vacation in Paris for June and July, but will return in the fall.  Come and meet her and purchase an autograph copy of her new cookbook at our Release event.

I think you'll enjoy our '07 Petite Sirah.  Although our first wines made from scratch were from the '08 harvest, we were able to find a couple of very good barrels of '07 Napa Petite Sirah and finish it out to make what we think is a very enjoyable first wine.
 
I also want to encourage you to come to our August 15 event ,where we'll taste barrel samples of our '08 Curtis Ranch and Firebrick  Zinfandels and our '08 Petite Sirah.  We think you'll agree that these are going to be stunning wines!
