Divorcing Couple
Is a bad economy ratcheting up stress so much that divorcing couples are splitting as soon as possible? Or has it forced them to stay under the same roof longer than they'd like?

Tonight at 7:00PM on WFMZ-TV 69, The American Law Journal examines "Divorce: Breaking Up is Hard to Do... in a Tough Economy."  New Jersey's past Family Law chair Bonnie Frost of Einhorn Harris Ascher Barbarito & Frost, past Pennsylvania Family Law Chair David Ladov of Cozen O'Connor and Donald F. Spry, II of King Spry Herman Freund & Faul join host Christopher Naughton.  The panel gives candid assessments of how this serious recession has affected couples contemplating divorce- and the lawyers that  represent them.

"People are still coming in to see us," says Spry, "but we're finding they are slower to 'pull the trigger.' They get their initial advice and they wait. And it's no question that it's the economy." Ladov adds "the dynamic is changing. The housing market has flipped. So now it gives a whole new meaning to 'being awarded the house.' Today, that award is more like an anvil."

The American Law Journal broadcasts every Monday night at 7:00 p.m. on WFMZ-TV 69 in the tri-state area. While the program's website is under renovation, download links are available by e-mailing info@lawjournaltv.com. Next week: "Paxil on Trial: Antidepressants and Birth Defects."
