On The American Law Journal:
A doctor cannot render a legal opinion as to whether someone is disabled or not. But his or her report will probably be the single greatest factor whether one is eligible for Social Security Disability benefits.
This Sunday October 26 at 6:30PM on CN8, The Comcast Network The American Law Journal examines "Social Security Disability- Is Your Doctor on Board?" from the Drexel University Anthony J. Drexel Picture Gallery with host Christopher Naughton and claimant's attorneys Alan Polonsky of Polonsky & Polonsky, Jess Leventhal of Leventhal Sutton & Gornstein and the Hon. Roger Schwartz. The program looks at medical examinations, from private to consultative, and how they impact the application process. "I find that doctors are not swayed by 'who they are representing'," says Polonsky, "whether it's a [governmental] consultative exam or someone seeing their own private physician. The key is always communication. Claimants have to be absolutely sure to communicate everything that may be bothering them. If not, it will undermine the case."
The American Law Journal broadcasts every Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. on CN8, The Comcast Network and free on demand on our website.
