On The American Law Journal:

Does knowing the judge really matter in a domestic relations case? What if the bench holds one of the lawyers in high regard as a top practitioner in her field? What if counsel has more experience than 'your honor'? Sunday at 6:30 PM on CN8, The Comcast Network, The American Law Journal examines "Family Law 'Trade Secrets'." New Jersey's past Family Law chair Bonnie Frost of Einhorn Harris Ascher Barbarito Frost & Ironson, immediate past Pennsylvania Family Law Chair David Ladov of Cozen O'Connor and Donald F. Spry, II of King Spry Herman Freund & Faul join host and former New Jersey prosecutor Christopher Naughton. Produced at the Union League in Philadelphia, the panel gives strategic insight into how the judge factors into the case's final determination. "They call it 'lawyering,'" opines Spry. "You can't ignore your surroundings or relationships. Judges are human. But you have to be careful. I have seen it work the other way as well. A judge who has a relationship with counsel may overcompensate in order to avoid the appearance of being unfair." The American Law Journal broadcasts every Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. on CN8, The Comcast Network and is available free on demand --click here for the website.
