ASCCA Members Have New Legal Counsel

As earlier reported, ASCCA longtime legal counsel, David Gregory was appointed as a commissioner of the court in Riverside county. Replacing David as ASCCA legal counsel is Jack Molodanof, ESQ, Attorney at Law. ASCCA members (and their employees) will continue to receive the membership benefit of a half hour of legal consultation per month for free.
Mr. Molodanof can be reached at 916.447.0313 or jack@mgrco.org.

Governor Signs Bill to Curb Workers' Comp Costs

As reported in the Armstrong Report, Governor Jerry Brown signed one piece of legislation that should reduce costs and vetoed two others, potentially saving California employers hundreds of millions of dollars on their workers' comp costs.

In a significant move, and a victory for employers and workers alike, Governor Brown signed AB 338 which is aimed at reining in one of the fastest growing cost drivers in the workers' comp system: compound drugs. These drugs sometimes known as convenience packs or medical food, are essentially two or more pharmaceuticals combine for the purpose of treating an injured worker's specific injury.

ASCCA Past President Mike Mahneke to Retire

ASCCA would like to wish Past President Mike Mahneke much health and happiness in his retirement. Mike has been a dedicated advocate on behalf of the automotive industry and has been an unwavering supporter of ASCCA. We thank him for his years of contribution to our organization and for setting the bar of excellence for ASCCA leadership.
