Greetings!
Welcome back to school! The pool is closed for the season and the yellow buses are back on the roads. If your child would benefit from a tutor's assistance to stay on the road to academic success, please contact us.

Back to School Night Basics
|
|
- Elementary - Middle School - High School -
Back to School night is your opportunity as a parent to make a good first impression! The following tips are from NVTS Operations Manager Denise Perrino, based on 34 years of experience hosting Back to School Night as a teacher and 20 years of experience attending as a parent.
- Remember the purpose of the evening: to give parents and guardians a peek into the school day by meeting the teachers, seeing their rooms and getting an overview of their curriculum.
- Know your child's schedule and room numbers. Go on-line and view a map of the school layout.
- Be early. Parking lots fill up!
- Bring a snack (apple, sandwich) if you are coming straight from work.
- Ask your child if they have any questions.
- Listen to the teacher's explanations and expectations.
- Ask questions that pertain to all.
- On the way out smile and say thank you. If the opportunity happens, have an "elevator" speech that best describes your child.
- Have a color index card ready to hand to the teacher listing your child's name and important information about your child - include their strengths and weaknesses; how you can assist the teacher (volunteer opportunity); and the best way to contact you.
- Remember this is your child's school and it is important for you to enjoy this night!
