Dallas Arboretum Award
Pansy Panorama, 24X12, Oil on Canvas
 |
I learned recently that my painting, Pansy Panorama, was selected for an award in the Dallas Arboretum Garden Gallery juried show. This is my first professional art award and I am so honored and absolutely thrilled. There are many amazing artworks in the show which will be on display through March 28 at the DeGolyer House on the grounds of the Arboretum. If you make it out to the Arboretum this month for the Dallas Blooms Festival, be sure to stop in and see the historic DeGolyer residence. It's worth a tour all by itself!

Artscape aka Freezing My Buns Off
The air was cold but I had a very warm reception from art lovers who braved the wintry mix this weekend for Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum. With temperatures in the mid-30s, I was amazed at all the visitors who came to see me despite the chill. Thank you!!!
Hats off to Joy Ijams and her staff in the Education Department at the Dallas Arboretum. They deserve such kudos for enduring the wind chill Saturday and Sunday, and helping all the artists pack up and go home in the snow on Sunday! And a most special thank you to whomever invented pocket warmers.
Holy cow I would not have survived without them!

Purple Rain Irises, 24X20, Oil on Canvas
Join Me April 17 on Coronado Island!
I'm very excited to report that I will be painting in the garden at Art and Frames by Wood Gallery on Coronado Island, CA, during the Coronado Flower Show on Saturday, April 17 from 11 am to 4 pm. It will be a great day in the sun with Jill and Glenn and Trisha from the gallery. This amazing gallery has shipped my container garden paintings all over the world and has found a unique way to frame these large works.
There are few places on earth more mesmerizing for flower buffs than Coronado Island so mark your calendars. Art and Frames by Wood Gallery is the oldest, most prestigious gallery on the island, and it's right next door to the Starbucks, so get your latte in gear and come on by and say hi!
