I stumbled upon this koi pond near the rose gardens at the Dallas Arboretum recently, and it was the inspiration for the painting above, Manna From Heaven. My thanks to the gentleman who saw me taking pictures and ran over to toss bread in the water so I could get some good pictures of fish noses!
What Inspires You?Thunder
I had a studio visit by a wonderful family last month who had just moved to Flower Mound from London, England. They were looking for Texas landcapes for their new home. Their enthusiasum for the Texas Hill Country inspired me to go back through my Fredericksburg archives with a fresh eye. They inspired me to produce these two new works, Thunder, (above), and Fredericksburg Glow (right).

Thanks to everyone who stopped by my booth at Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum in September. I have never had such a successful show, thanks to you! 
 
The next paintout at the Arboretum has begun, so look for me on the grounds with my pochade box and brushes. I'll be the crazy lady with paint on her nose in the big hat. I hope to be selected for Artscape again next year. Cross your fingers for me!
