Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum

Aspire I look forward to seeing you this weekend at the Dallas Arboretum for Artscape. My booth number is 34, so drop by and say hello! I will have a special prize for the first person at the show who comes by my booth and mentions they received this invitation (no, it won't be a cookie, it will be something you can hang on your wall - hint, hint). See you soon!

This oil painting, Evensong, 16X20, was inspired by a visit to another beautiful garden, Balboa Park in San Diego. I've been busy producing new landscapes based on my photography from the Dallas Arboretum and Balboa Park for the past few months and I think I've found my calling! These paintings combine a love of colorful flowers with the shadows and lights of the outdoors. Two of my paintings were selected for the prestigious Mayflower Paintout Juried Art Show. You can see them in the DeGolyer House on the Dallas Arboretum grounds throughout the month of September.

Aspire - 20X24, Oil

AspireThe canna lilies are in full bloom at the Dallas Arboretum this month. These flowers are so fun to paint, they follow absolutely no rules and don't mind shedding all over the place, hmmm, reminds me of some Pugs I know...

Sanctuary - The Women's Garden

Aspire If you've never been to the Dallas Arboretum, the Women's Garden is worth the trip, all by itself. Sanctuary is a new 20X24 work in oil depicting the pink geraniums near the stone steps by the fountains in the Women's Garden.
You can contact me directly if you'd like more information about Artscape, if you are interested in a new work of art, or you have something funny to share about Pugs. Just click here!
