Mercy Primary Care vies for Art Van Challenge

Free clinics look for support everywhere they can to continue their valuable contribution to the health care safety net. Aiisya Williamson, executive director of Mercy Primary Care Center, has announced a bid for the Art Van Challenge, which has awarded the Center a $15,000 challenge grant. The funds will support the Mercy Special Personal Assistance shower program for the homeless. Through this program, the Center provides clients with a warm shower and clean clothing -- meeting basic personal hygiene needs. Mercy also provides referrals to community agencies to help clients improve their lives through education, employment and counseling.

Mercy is asking supporters of its mission to vote daily (see link below) in the Art Van Challenge through Oct. 30. One organization with the most votes will receive an additional $25,000. For more information on the challenge, contact Ms. Williamson at 313-579-4005 or email at willala@trinity-health.org.
