Interfaith Prayer Breakfast discusses 'Myth, Fact...
Time to Act' on May 1
 
The Interfaith Health and Hope Coalition will present a special interfaith prayer breakfast focused on promoting access to care for the uninsured on Thursday, May 1, from 7:0 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The keynote speaker is Rev. Dr. Otis Moss, pastor, Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio. He will speak on "A Call to Action. Rev. Dr. John Duckworth, President of the Interfaith Health and Hope Coalition will offer welcome remarks.
 
The program will also include a panel discussion on "Myth, Fact...Time to Act," moderated by Dr. Cynthia Taueg, St. John Health. Discussants will include Rob Fowler, Michigan Health Insurance Access Coalition," John Freeman, Healthcare for Michigan Campaign, Kim Hodge, AARP, and Linda Walling, Faithful Reform. The discussion will cover state and national initiatives regarding access to care, a proposed ballot initiative, the "Divided We Fail" campaign and a Michigan poll conducted by the Michigan Health and Hospital Association.
 
Participants will receive information to empower congregations on the needs of the uninsured, new options for care and coverage, and strategies for advocacy.
