New wireless internet for businesses project

University of Minnesota Business and Community Economic DevelopmentGreater Frogtown is proud to announce a new business development opportunity, thanks to donations from the University of Minnesota's Office for Business and Community Economic Development.   The U has given wireless internet access equipment, which will allow us to provide new services and - in partnership with the Neighborhood Development Center -  new training opportunities for local businesses to use the internet to promote our area.  The first target for the project is the Frogtown Entrepreneur Center buildings on University and Dale.  We will be in testing for the next month, but we hope to be active for businesses in the area by the end of October.  Contact Steve Boland to learn more.

P      Xcel Energy funds Greater Frogtown
Steve Boland and John Marshall
Greater Frogtown is supported in part by grants and corporate contributions.  This month, we are pleased to recognize a new gift from the Xcel Energy Foundation.  John Marshall (right) - pictured with Steve Boland of Greater Frogtown (left) - is the manager of community and government relations for Xcel, and visited the Greater Frogtown offices to present this most recent gift.  We're very grateful to Xcel, and all our funding partners, for their support.
"Mixer" for businesses interested in Light Rail construction

The Metropolitan Council is hosting a meeting to get more minority- and women-owned businesses interested in bidding on work related to the construction of the new Light Rail Transit line.  We hope locally-based businesses will take the time to get "certified" in this bid process.  Learn more from the Council on September 25, beginning at 3:00 PM, with social hour at 4:00 PM.  Details on the Central Corridor web site.
