ArticlWorld Cultures District for University Avenue?

Part of the Central Corridor Redevelopment Strategy - the plan to coodinate investment in University Avenue - includes a call for the creation of the World Cultures Heritage District.  The District should promote the great ethnic businesses we already have on University Avenue, and promote new business opportunties as well.  Background information about this idea is available on the EthnicTrends.info website.

Greater Frogtown CDC will be taking the lead in helping to develop the name, brand, and funding for this joint promotion idea.  Our staff is currently meeting with potential funders and the City of Saint Paul to move this idea forward.  We hope to be in front of the community soon to with some specific proposals to share, but if you have thoghts to share in the interim, please contact Steve Boland at 651-789-7486.

Article625 Dale Street Considered for Redevelopment

The site of the Hmong Funeral Home at the corner of Dale and Lafond is being purchased with the intent to redevelop this important intersection in our neighborhood.  The area is bigger than many sites in the area due to the parking lot behind, and it is discussed in many existing community plans.  Greater Frogtown CDC will be spending some time developing ideas, and seeking input from area residents on what type of new development would make the best sense for this site.  Have some early ideas?  Contact us!
